Madrid, 8th March, 2018. On International Women’s Day, this 8th March the women who work and collaborate with the Women for Africa Foundation will be supporting the feminist strike organised by the 8 M Commission, which has been called in over 150 countries.
Furthermore, this afternoon at the foundation’s headquarters there will be a debate on the situation of women around the world, and especially in Africa. A group of African women who are participating in the foundation’s programmes will be taking part, along with another group of mostly Spanish young students who collaborate with this organisation.
After the debate, Women for Africa will go to the demonstration scheduled to start at 7 p.m. in the centre of Madrid.
Also related to the special day, our president María Teresa Fernández de la Vega will also be taking part on Tuesday 6th in a debate organised by the social research group Sigma Dos along with notable women from different spheres of Spanish life.
María Teresa Fernández de la Vega has also recorded a video message about the significance of this special 8th March, which will be available on our website and our YouTube channel: http://mujeresporafrica.es/
