Open call for the 8th Edition of “Science by Women”

Madrid, July 26th. For the eighth consecutive year, the Women for Africa Foundation launches the call for the Science by Women program. This edition of the Foundation’s long-running project will involve 21 research centers distributed throughout Spain, which will receive 22 senior women scientists.

The researchers who win the scholarship will spend six months in the requested center. They will also join the more than 100 women scientists who have been part of the program over the last seven years and who are currently an active part of the NOW IS AFRICA Network.

Among the main novelties of this edition is the incorporation of new centers such as the National Center for Cardiovascular Research (CNIC) or the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (ICTA-UAB). In addition, for the second consecutive year, the Carlos III Health Institute will offer two scholarships.

Women for Africa thanks both the centers and the sponsors for their continued support and trust in the program. For its realization we count on the funding of public bodies such as the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, the Government of the Canary Islands or the FCSAI Foundation as well as companies such as ENDESA.

You can find the guidelines and rules for the application process on our website. The deadline for submitting applications will remain open until September 30. For more information: Mujeres por África 8th Edition – Science by woman – Mujeres por África (mujeresporafrica.es)
