June 21, 2022. Three hundred young African women will be able to benefit from one of the online course to which they will be able to apply (starting tomorrow) from this page within the Learn Africa Canarias program.
With the sponsorship of the Ministry of Economy, Knowledge and Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands, the Women for Africa Foundation launches, for the second consecutive year, this online scholarship program with the aim of offering new study opportunities to African women. In particular, to Spanish speakers or girls with a high level of Spanish, since most of the studies are taught in this language. The 2022 call offers a wide variety of courses in different subjects, such as renewable energies, health, tourism and women, economics and international relations, among others, and in different modalities. Thus, the call includes specialized short courses, language courses and university training courses designed by the Universities of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and La Laguna, and their foundations, Fundación Canaria Universitaria de la Universidad de Las Palmas and Fundación Canaria General de la Universidad de La Laguna, as well as the Instituto Tecnológico de Canarias (ITC). All of them will be taken online and are scheduled to take place between August and December this year. To be eligible for one of these courses, aimed at women with African nationality, it is necessary to be enrolled or have an academic degree issued by a university from the continent. The degree required may vary depending on the scholarship requested. As these are online studies, you must also have a stable internet connection and a computer. Places are limited, therefore only one application per person is accepted on this edition of the scholarship. Between January 2020 and December 2021, a total of 278 young people from 39 African countries received a total of 379 scholarships through which they completed one or more of the 30 online courses offered under the program.Copyright © Mujeres por África 2024
