28th of April 2021. Today was the graduation ceremony of the fifth edition of our Launch & Grow project, aimed at Kenyan women entrepreneurs, which we organised in collaboration with Babson College, with the sponsorship of Banco Santander.
This cohort was made up of thirteen junior and senior Kenyan women entrepreneurs from different sectors, ranging from aviation to safari tourism, insurance, business services, the chemical industry or the food industry.
As last year, the course has been held entirely online due to the pandemic, but this has not prevented the participants from building a great community spirit, encouraged by their trainers. In fact, this was highlighted in the presentation of their projects during two sessions which culminated in a ceremony where all of them received their diplomas virtually.
Professors Smayira Million and Mary Gale from Babson, as persons in charge of the training, handed out the diplomas in a virtual stage, as depicted in the photo.
To date, 70 Kenyan businesswomen have benefited from this project, which aims to support the entrepreneurship of Kenyan women through training, mentoring and networking among the beneficiaries.
