From today, April 2, until April 17, African university students have the opportunity to apply for one of the Women for Africa Foundation’s Learn Africa postgraduate scholarships.
This year, we are proud to announce that a total of 22 continuing scholarships and 76 new scholarships will be offered, covering a wide range of educational opportunities, from master’s programs to research fellowships and PhDs. This year, in particular, we are celebrating a historic milestone with the offer of 4 doctoral scholarships, the highest number since the program’s inception.
The study modalities are diverse, with 41 on-site scholarships, 25 online and 10 blended. In addition, 38 of the courses will be taught in Spanish, 18 in English, 10 in French and 10 in English/Spanish. This is in order to adapt to the needs and preferences of our beneficiaries.
We are also offering 10 full scholarships for Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, depending on demand, at the Rabat campus, all in the on-site mode, in collaboration with Planeta Formación y Universidades.
This year’s wide range of scholarships would not have been possible without the unwavering commitment of the program’s more than 50 partner universities. This number is growing every year. This year, Learn Africa is honored to welcome for the first time the University of Almeria (UAL) and the ENAE Business School (Murcia), two institutions that are joining forces to offer two scholarships each.
As part of our commitment to academic excellence and equal opportunity, we have increased our commitment to PhD scholarships. We also continue to support STEM programs. To this end, we have introduced innovative topics such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, food safety and sustainable construction, among others.
Since its launch in 2013, the Learn Africa program has benefited 350 African women students from 35 countries. A total of 380 scholarships have been awarded. This program continues to grow year after year, always with the aim of providing African women with educational and socio-professional development opportunities.
