Learn Africa Canarias 2025: Boosting Skills for a Better Future

June 16th, 2025 – With the support of the General Directorate for Relations with Africa of the Government of the Canary Islands, the Women for Africa Foundation is launching the fourth call for applications for Learn Africa Canarias, an online training initiative exclusively aimed at university-educated or degree-holding women from Africa, with the objective of strengthening their professional skills and improving their future employment prospects.

Since its launch in 2020, Learn Africa Canarias has already awarded 1,280 scholarships, benefitting 936 women from 44 African countries, who have had access to high-caliber training provided by academic and professional institutions in the Canary Islands.

This new call for applications includes additional training content, such as Fundamentals of Innovative Entrepreneurship, Intermediate Excel, and Advanced Excel, alongside the previously offered Spanish language courses and university programs designed by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), the University of La Laguna (ULL) and their respective foundations (FULP and FGULL), as well as the Technological Institute of the Canary Islands (ITC).

All courses will be delivered online from July to November 2025. Spaces are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, which is why each person may apply for a maximum of one specialized course and, in addition, a Spanish language course.

Full information — including the course catalogue, eligibility criteria, and application procedure — is available on our website. The application deadline is open until June 30, 2025, at 23:59 (Madrid time).
