November 27, 2024 – On November 22, 2024, the Women for Africa Foundation officially inaugurated the ‘Origine Nador’ project during a ceremony held at Phare Nador, its headquarters in Africa. This initiative, driven by the Foundation and its Moroccan branch, the Association Femmes pour l’Afrique, is made possible with support from the ISS Foundation, which funds projects focused on creating sustainable employment. The event was graced by the presence of the Consul General of Spain, along with key local partners and collaborators who have contributed to this ambitious proposal aimed at promoting craftsmanship and women’s entrepreneurship.
During the inauguration, Ainhoa Marín and Lemyaa Azdad, representing the Foundation and its Moroccan branch, expressed their gratitude to the attendees for their support and participation, highlighting the significant impact their direct and indirect contributions have on the project’s success. The Consul General of Spain, Mr. Rafael M. Reig Sánchez-Tembleque, emphasized in his speech the importance of initiatives like this in fostering development and sustained cooperation.
The event featured a detailed presentation of the “Origine Nador” project by Lemyaa Azdad, who outlined the project’s main phases, strategic vision, and expected outcomes. One of the most noteworthy moments was the intervention of the 10 participants from the women’s entrepreneurship incubator, who shared how the training they received has motivated and empowered them to support and promote innovative projects led by women.
Strategic partners also had the opportunity to express their commitment to the initiative and their willingness to continue supporting it. This dedication was formalized through the signing of framework agreements with key institutions, including AttijariWafa Bank, the Chamber of Handicrafts of the Oriental Region, the Tourism Delegation, the Multidisciplinary Faculty of Nador, and the Higher School of Technology in Nador.
This inauguration marks the beginning of a project that combines training, innovation, and teamwork to foster entrepreneurship and sustainable development in Morocco’s Oriental region.
