Campus of International Excellence in Agrifood & Cordoba University


Campus of International Excellence in Agrifood & Cordoba University is a joint initiative between the andalusian universities of Almeria, Cadiz, Huelva and Jaen, headed by the University of Cordoba. These institutions have a long scientific career path, and they put all this knowledge about the agrifood industry at the disposal of society. The main objective is to contribute to the development of this sector and find answers to the agricultural challenges of 21st century. In order to achieve these objectives, ceiA3 put at the disposal of  society the results of the scientific work of more than 300 research groups and 3.500 of scientists specialized in agriculture and agrifood    becoming  one  of  the biggest Agrifood Campus of International Excellence of Spain.

Lines of research

  • Research and innovation lines of the whole agrifood chain: from the improvement and optimization of resources for both vegetable and animal production, to economic and legal aspects
  • Plant and animal production, biotechnology and health
  • Sustainable production  including agrifood inputs and all aspects regarding water and waste management, soil conservation and fertility
  • Biotechnology, Food Quality and Food Safety,  Bioenergy and creative solutions for the food industry using the most advanced techniques.
  • Marketing and Agrifood Economics issues and Law and Business, including Rural Develpoment.
  • Bioeconomy and Digitization in the  agrifood  sector  highlights  as  cross‐sectorial  flagship ceiA3’s initiatives.
