CADDY ADZUBA (DR Congo)


President of the Association des Femmes des Médias (AFEM). A Congolese organization of women journalists that has been working for 20 years to promote gender equality and fight against sexual and gender-based violence. AFEM has a thematic radio channel whose editorial line is gender equity and the promotion and participation of women. It is the first and only thematic and gender sensitive radio station in the region and throughout the country.

Caddy ADZUBA is also the director of FPM/ asbl, a structure she created 7 years ago, whose mission is to build resilience for women’s empowerment.

She is a lawyer and journalist specializing in gender and women’s leadership. She campaigns for women’s rights in her country and especially denounces the sexual violence used as a weapon of war since the beginning of the armed conflicts in DR Congo in 1996. Caddy ADZUBA is a member of the advisory board for the Women’s Alliance for Peace. She has received several international awards.
