UNICAN. Master in Particle Physics and Physics of the Cosmos

Description: This «Teresa Rodrigo Anoro» scholarship is aimed at African women who want to study the Interuniversity Master in Particle and Cosmos Physics of the University of Cantabria and the Menéndez Pelayo International University. These studies offer a high level training, oriented towards research and focused on the specializations of particle and cosmos physics.
Modality: Face-to-face.
Duration: 1 year (60 credits).
Start date/end of stay: October 2026 – July 2027 (tentative dates, academic calendar to be published).
Teaching language: English or Spanish (both available).
Academic requirements: Candidates who have a degree in Physics with 240 credits or more will have direct access to the program. Graduates in Physics from Spanish and foreign universities who have completed a degree of at least 180 credits will also have access to the program. The Academic Coordination Committee may propose, on a case-by-case basis, the completion of some additional training. Students coming from related degrees (e.g., Mathematics, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Telecommunications Technology Engineering) whose credits exceed 240 credits, may be admitted, provided that the Academic Coordination Committee considers that their previous training in Physics, Mathematics and Basic Programming is sufficient, and can be completed, in any case, with the completion of a series of training complements.
Additional requirements:

  • For students whose native language is not English: accreditation in the English language at least corresponding to a level B2. In the absence of this official accreditation, English level could be verified through a specific exam by the Universidad de Cantabria.
  • It might be the case that the candidate needs to be interviewed by the Academic Coordination Commission of the Master Degree as a requirement of the selection process.
